Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to name the access road to JC Lowe Oval, Yarrawonga which is currently not formally named. Formal naming of this road is necessary to manage risk associated with emergency services response.

The proposal is to name this road 'Neil Place' to commemorate community member, Neil Davis, who passed away in 2020.

Neil had a strong connection to the Yarrawonga area and known for his contributions particularly to the Yarrawonga Football Netball Club and Yarrawonga Tennis Club which are both located at the JC Lowe Oval precinct.

This road naming proposal was submitted and supported by the Yarrawonga JC Lowe Oval Reserve Community Asset Committee.

Council has the authority and responsibility to name roads and geographic features within the municipality using the principles and procedures of the ‘Naming Rules for places in Victoria - Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities 2022 (the Naming Rules).

Feedback on this proposal is currently being accepted in accordance with the Naming Rules and Council's Community Engagement Policy.

All feedback received will be considered in our decision about whether to proceed with this naming proposal.
