Moira Shire Council is creating a new Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2025 – 2030,

and we invite you to contribute your ideas to protect and improve the region’s environment.

This strategy will unite Council’s past documents, Environmental Sustainability Strategy (2022-2026), Waste Management and Services Strategy (2018-2027)

and Corporate Emissions Reduction Plan (2018-2021) into one comprehensive strategy, that will guide our actions for the next 5 years.

Your insights are crucial in highlighting the environmental challenges and opportunities that matter most to our community.

Join the conversation and support the actions to safeguard our natural environment and ensure a sustainable region for generations to come.

Discover our focus areas and share your input – Consultation closes Monday 18 November.

The consultation

From Thursday 3 October to Monday 18 November, Moira Shire Council invited the community to share their thoughts and feedback for the development of the Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2025-2030. The consultation sought to understand which sustainability issues matter most to residents and asked participants to rank the 14 focus areas that will be part of the strategy.

Community members were encouraged to contribute their vision of a sustainable and environmentally friendly Moira Shire by posting ideas on an online vision board. Additionally, residents and businesses were asked how the Council could support them in making more environmentally friendly choices and implementing sustainable practices.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated and provided valuable feedback. Your insights will play an important role as Council develops the Environmental Sustainability Strategy to shape Moira Shire's sustainable future.
